Our dream Mauritius wedding

Going through all the photos to create this post really brought back so many emotions and nice memories! I cannot believe that I have been married to love of my life for 4 months now (gosh how the time flies) but as we were waiting for the photos and wedding video for quite some time I’m only able to share the day of our dreams with you now. But better later than never they say 🙂

You might expected that I’ll pay a great importance to the makeup and hair – but this time you’re wrong! As we decided for a beach wedding I wanted to have a beach look meaning as less make up as possible and really simple hear.

As we didn’t put much importance about the decoration of the venue, as the ceremony was really short and simple, the most important detail of our wedding for me was my wedding dress. It was perfect, special, unique and just the way I wanted it to be! It’s not an easy job to find the perfect dress, that’s also suitable for a beach wedding, but I did it. For what is more – in a first try at Sanjska Obleka in Kamnik. You can see how I said yes to the dress HERE. The selection was wide but luckily I knew what I wanted and what I’m searching for. I always remember the special occassions by the clothes I wear and this one needed to be memorable for sure. The dress I’ve chosen is really unique, I’ve never seen a similar one before, handmade out of lace and defenitely not appropriate for the church without a lining dress that comes with the dress originaly. But it is a perfect piece for a beach wedding – a little daring, but so beautiful and classy!

As for the rings, again, we wanted something pretty simple, made out of white gold. Luka basically went for the matte option (see it here) and I’ve chosen a ring with diamonds all around it – you can see it HERE. We got them from Zlatarna Mirage and it was defenitely the right decision as they’re super flexible and open for all the wishes you might have!

Our wedding took place at the beach of beautiful Shangri La Le Touessrok Resort & Spa Mauritius, ob February 22nd at 5PM. I was not stressing out about the wedding at all – I even went for a swim 3 hours before but things didn’t go as smoothly as you might think. Around 2PM (3 hours before the wedding) they called from the reception desk that photographers from Backlight Studios (one of the best on Mauritius) are there (4 of them to be clear), but that they (the hotel) don’t allow the drone photoshooting and filming, due to other guest’s privacy, as we planned it before. Well we had to skip that, but I stayed quite calm. Next unplanned thing happened less than hour before the wedding – it started to rain! Dark clouds, windy weather and rain defenitely isn’t something you look forward to when you get married on the beach. Well some rain drops and clouds didn’t ruin the mood, althought they did the photos. We’ll never have wedding photos with clear blue water in the back (as it is in reality), but we’ll have the best memories that’ll last a lifetime!

We decided for 2 in 1 option – wedding and honeymoon all in one and I wouldn’t do it any other way. For me wedding day is still the day that should be dedicated only to the groom & bride and we enjoyed it that way! And right after the wedding took place we started to enjoy our honeymoon – same location, same spot as the day before but in different roles – as husband and wife! If I had to choose the location of wedding and honeymoon again I’d defenitely go for the same option again.
